About River's Bend Lodge

fall in love with the way of life on the river

River's Bend Lodge sits directly on the banks of the Missouri River in the heart of Montana's breathtaking Lewis & Clark country. Nestled beneath the Belt Mountains and surrounded by the rugged beauty of the Rocky Mountains, our lodge offers guests an unforgettable Montana escape filled with adventure, relaxation, and authentic western hospitality.

Known by local anglers as "The Best Stretch of Blue-Ribbon Trout Stream Fishing," River's Bend Lodge is a dream destination for fly fishing enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers alike. Cast for wild rainbow, brown, and cutthroat trout just steps from the lodge, or spend your days exploring nearby hiking and biking trails, rafting and kayaking the Missouri River, and discovering the rich history of the Lewis & Clark expedition trail.

After a day beneath Montana's endless "Big Sky," relax on the deck overlooking the river while bald eagles soar across the mountains. Gather in the Great Room beside the stunning stone fireplace handcrafted from local lichen rock, share stories at the historic bar, and enjoy fine dining in a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels like home.

Originally constructed over eight years by Montana native Soren DeTienne, River's Bend Lodge was built with the help of family and friends as a place to gather loved ones and celebrate the Montana lifestyle. Today, the lodge is proudly owned and operated by Soren's daughter, Becci DeTienne, and her husband, Dennis McNickle, who continue the tradition of welcoming guests with genuine hospitality and personalized care.

Every detail of the lodge reflects authentic Montana craftsmanship, from the timber and log construction to the hand-selected decor inspired by the outdoors. One of the lodge's most treasured features is the Great Room fireplace, built from local lichen rock as a tribute to the DeTienne family farm in Plentywood, Montana. Guests also enjoy the historic Great Room Bar, originally from the prestigious Montana Club an exclusive members-only establishment from the late 1800s frequented by Montana's wealthy miners and pioneers during the gold rush era.

Whether you are planning a romantic getaway, fishing adventure, family reunion, wedding, or corporate retreat, River's Bend Lodge offers a peaceful and unforgettable setting where Montana history, comfort, and natural beauty come together.
